Gnocchi (pronounced N(Y)OH-kee) is just one of those foods that looks interesting to eat and maybe even a little daunting to make from scratch. These 5-ingredient Trader Joe’s dinner recipes were inspired by my most recent trip to Trader Joe’s. Have you ever noticed the cute signs that advertise different products? Or the floral display that looks like you’ve stepped into your own secret garden? I get happy just thinking about Trader Joe’s. They are used to look like a coastal trading post! How cool is that?! Did you know that Trader Joe’s is nautical themed? The crates used both inside and outside the store are not just decoration. Simply walking into Trader Joe’s is an experience in and of itself. The chain has been around for several decades, yet they still are able to maintain a cozy, neighborhood grocer kind of vibe. This week I’m going to talk about why I love Trader Joe’s and share some of my favorite recipes using their ingredients. It’s Trader Joe’s week and I’m super excited to share some new, 5-ingredient Trader Joe’s dinner recipes that can be pulled together in a pinch. These 5 ingredient Trader Joe’s dinner recipes will become your new favorites! I only wish the package contained more than just 2oz.The only thing better than quick dinners are the ones that require just 5 ingredients. While it didn't live up to claims of being "thick sliced bacon", I found the excellent flavor to more than compensate. I really like the complexity of taste, adding in the soy sauce, honey and garlic, to create a diversity of flavors. This Sweet Sriracha Uncured Bacon Jerky from Trader Joe's seems to deliver on all three marketed flavors: gobs of sticky sweet, lots of spicy Thai sriracha sauce, and the classic goodness of bacon. This is more like the thin sliced bacon you'd find at a breakfast buffet. Despite the package claiming, "thick, flavorful uncured bacon", it's hardly thick. The meat consistency is just like regular bacon on the breakfast table, but cooked somewhere in between soft and crispy. I'd say it's a little less heat than straight sriracha sauce, but still enough to register as "medium hot" (level 4 out of 5) on my personal heat scale. But there's a light soy sauce that becomes noticeable, and by the time you finish chewing the garlic shows up.Īs for the heat, it's fairly hot. The sriracha sauce flavor comes in just as you start chewing, and at one point takes over the palate. Otherwise, the flavors that define this jerky starts with the classic flavor of bacon, but with a lot of sweet added. You're definitely getting your money's worth if you want bacon with sweetened sriracha sauce. But it's also very much a bacon jerky, with the classic bacon flavor, aroma, and chewing. But the unique taste of sriracha sauce is pretty well defined too. It's quite sweet for one, with shades of honey flavor. I can also pick up bits of garlic, and traces of honey.įor being marketed as "Sweet Sriracha", it lives up well. The chewing brings on the classic bacon flavor while the heat starts to build. There's a light sriracha flavor coming in, mixed with some soy sauce, along with a tangy character. The first flavors to his my palate is a strong sweetness. Natural uncured bacon - no nitrates or nitrites added except for those naturally occurring in celery powder and & sea salt (pork, water, lactic acid starter culture ), white sugar, sriracha sauce, gluten free soy sauce, water, honey, cayenne powder, granulated garlic, ground pepper, sea salt, red wine vinegar, ginger.
